Educating your Community
The New Guard Safety Champions training package was written specifically to assist people whose role gives them the opportunity to engage with members of their community. In doing so they often become the first responders to vulnerability and crisis. We aim to furnish those who attend this training session with the necessary knowledge required to keep themselves and the other person safe and well.

Over the last year we have been working with Savills Property Management and The Crown Estate to deliver the New Guard Safety Champions Training package to the Security, Hygiene, Customer Services and Management teams at many of the largest retail and tourism sites across the UK. To date we have delivered the Safety Champions Training to over 6OO people across 27 UK sites during 62 training sessions, and we are delighted to be able to say that we are receiving really positive feedback, and encouragingly, reports from sites of positive interactions with vulnerable people and successfully completed suicide interventions by members of their teams, post training delivery.

After receiving funding form Arnold Clark Community Fund last year, we were able to offer an open course, inviting Small Business and Sole Traders who because of their roll within society may find themselves to be the first point of contact in assisting a vulnerable person. Again we are please to say this course was very well received. We are now working hard to secure more funding so we can run more courses in the future.

The Community Safety Champions course is perfect for but not limited to, taxi drivers, hair dressers barbers and beauticians, late night shop assistants and night time economy staff.
